Retrieve is the South West’s dedicated Adult Critical Care Transfer Service. We are looking for registered critical care practitioners who can deliver high-quality transfer care to critically unwell patients across the South West. As a Band 6 Transfer Practitioner, following completion of the appropriate additional training, you will assume responsibility for the specialised care required to transfer critically ill adults. You will be expected to support and mentor new members of the multi-professional team. Main duties of the job
This role involves working independently, providing Practitioner-delivered transfers of Level 2 (high dependency) and Level 1 (ward level) patients, supported remotely by the Retrieve Duty Consultant. There will be a requirement to work shifts including nights, evenings and weekends. Compliance with infection prevention and control guidance is essential. Person specification
Qualifications and Training
Relevant professional registrations with the NMC Educated to Degree level or working towards completion Speciality qualification in Adult Critical Care (or equivalent) Assessing and mentoring qualification or willingness to undertake Advanced life support (ALS) or willingness to undertake Teaching qualification Knowledge and Experience
Recent operational experience in Intensive Care Experience with intra-hospital transfer Understanding of professional issues in critical care transfers Evidence of delivering teaching programmes Skills and Abilities
