Our client is a leading manufacturer who is currently recruiting for a sheet metal worker/plater to join their workshop team. Candidates will need to be familiar with engineering practices and will have worked in a similar position previously.
Main duties will include: Cutting and shaping sheet metal into specific sizes and shapes working to customer specifications. Installing sheet metal components, such as ducts, vents, and gutters in the appropriate locations. Using specialised tools and equipment to bend, join, and fasten sheet metal pieces together. Measuring and marking sheet metal to ensure accuracy and precision in fabrication and installation. Understanding and following building codes and safety regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to determine specifications and requirements for sheet metal installation. Keeping work areas clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. Maintaining and repairing sheet metal components as needed to ensure they function properly over time.
Candidate attributes: Previous working experience in a similar position. Being a time-served engineer who has the ability to use a variety of practices to construct and complete customer specifications. Ability to work a variety of hours as and when required. Good communication skills both written and verbal. Own transport due to the location of the business.
