This exciting opportunity to join our team has been created because of our continued success and expansion within the marketplace, in particular the renewable energy industry. Based in our Glasgow office, we are looking to recruit an experienced hands-on Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Advisor. This role will provide support to the SHEQ Manager and partners of Powersystems in promoting a positive Health and Safety culture, working towards continual SHEQ improvements in line with our core value Priority No.1 Health, Safety and Well-being. Duties and responsibilities of the role include: Actively maintain Management Systems ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 and assist with annual reviews of SHEQ Management Systems Conduct SHEQ Audits and Inspections across the Company to identify potential hazards and risks Investigate incidents, near-misses, and non-compliance, providing root cause analysis and assisting in the close out Develop a suite of lessons learnt communications and deliver across the Company i.e. SHEQ briefings Provide guidance and support to the Company on statutory requirements, compliance, and company standards, supporting and developing quality, environmental and health and safety procedures Work with partners across the Company to ensure that SHEQ is considered at all stages of work and that relevant control measures are identified Support the commercial business through the SHEQ element of tenders and PQQs Support the approved supplier and contractor list process Attend and provide input to project kick-off and quarterly SHEQ Committee meetings Contribute to the future success of Powersystems and its clients Embrace and demonstrate the Company’s 5 core Principles of: Priority No.1 Health, Safety and Well-being; Professionalism, Pride, Partnership and Proactive Here’s what you need to be successful in the role: NEBOSH General Certificate (ideally, Construction Certificate) or Level 3 NVQ equivalent Previous experience of working within construction, utilities, manufacturing, engineering, or electrical sectors Practical knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (2015) Experience of SHEQ Management Systems and development of SHEQ procedures Knowledge and active participation in auditing of - ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 Direct experience of internal auditing procedures Demonstrable good oral and written communication skills, including writing risk assessments, environmental aspects/impacts assessments and COSHH assessments Excellent organisational and time management skills Competency in Microsoft Office 365 Must be able to work within and contribute to a dynamic team Open to change, resilient and proactive Must be available to travel on work-related business throughout the UK with overnight stays Full UK driving licence Desirable: IEMA Foundation Certificate (Environmental) A member of IOSH or equivalent institution NEBOSH certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management ISO Internal Auditor In return we offer: Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 Benefit from company profit share as a partner in our business Company contributory pension scheme Car allowance Private health insurance and healthcare cashback plan 25 days annual holiday plus paid public holidays Flexible working arrangements (office/hybrid) Great training and development opportunities Holiday purchase scheme Cycle to work scheme Wellbeing initiative including our EAP and in-house Mental Health First Aiders Everyone is welcome at Powersystems.
