Summary Freedom Major Projects and Connections division are currently recruiting a SHEQ Advisor to provide support to our Major Projects and Connections team, starting with the exciting Project Olympus in the London Docklands area, a site of major regeneration. The role, based at our site in London's docklands, will provide professional SHEQ support to colleagues, our supply chain and contract partners, and our clients as required, ensuring that Group Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures are followed.

Freedom, part of the hugely successful NG Bailey group, provides a range of offers to the marketplace in renewable energy, turnkey delivery for Distribution Network Operators and others, facilities management and maintenance, as well as offering design and build solutions as an Independent Connections Provider.

Some of the key deliverables in this role include:

Ensuring company systems and processes are complied with via site inspections/audits. Monitoring the relevant areas of work for SHEQ compliance and bringing significant findings to the attention of the business Director and business SHEQ Manager. Implementing effective systems to further develop our positive health & safety culture. Advising and assisting our Project teams on SHEQ matters. Developing strong relationships locally with our clients. Ensuring accident and incident investigations are carried out, ensuring that all actions are followed up and completed. Liaising and coordinating with the Group SHEQ team as required to ensure consistency throughout the business. Attending/presenting at client SHEQ meetings/forums and communicating findings throughout the business area. Monitoring the control of contractors across our projects. Maintaining personal competence and professional development. Working in various parties from the central SHEQ team as needed to address specific issues. Taking an active part in the continual development of the SHEQ Management System. What we’re looking for: Essential Possesses the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. Has practical experience with delivering sites to exceed the requirements of CDM. A good understanding and practical application of HSG47/Underground Utility Avoidance. Can demonstrate construction and/or utility sector knowledge and experience. Strongly desirable Experience in electrical utilities. NEBOSH construction/Diploma or NVQ Level 5. IOSH or similar membership (ideally Chartered or Certified but willing to work towards). Environmental qualifications (e.g. IEMA or NEBOSH Environmental Certificate).
