Shift Engineer focuses on carry out planned preventative maintenance (ppm) and reactive repairs.

What the role involves

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.
  • Operate critical plant and building systems.
  • Respond to alarms, faults, and emergency situations.
  • Perform fault finding on electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Supporting specialist contractors.
  • Complete shift handovers, reports, and maintenance documentation.

Skills and requirements

  • Engineering qualification (Electrical or Mechanical).
  • Experience in building services, facilities management, or critical environments.
  • Strong fault-finding and maintenance skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution, HVAC, generators, UPS systems, or similar plant equipment.
