Shift Engineer
Shift Engineer focuses on perform planned preventative maintenance (ppm) and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
What the role involves
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and system failures within SLA timelines.
- Conduct routine inspections of UPS systems, generators, switchgear, CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, and fire systems.
- Supervise third-party contractors during maintenance activities.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health & safety regulations and operational procedures.
- Maintaining accurate logs, reports, and shift handover documentation.
Skills and requirements
- Strong understanding of electrical and/or mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of UPS, generators, HVAC, BMS, and power distribution systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot faults under pressure in a live operational environment.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance reporting tools.
