The Role
Smurfit Westrock Beacon has an exciting opportunity for a
Shift Manager
to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Operations Director, this first-line management role is key to overseeing the day-to-day manufacturing process, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. You’ll lead a morning team of production operatives (6am to 2pm), manage resources, and work towards achieving operational targets, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and positive leadership. What would I be doing: People Management:
Lead and support your team through effective communication, training and ongoing performance management. Controls & Targets:
Drive operational excellence by monitoring key metrics such as waste reduction, quality standards, and on-time delivery. Operations:
Ensure safety compliance, optimise machine performance, and maintain high-quality output to meet customer requirements. Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement, conduct audits, and implement strategies for enhanced efficiency. About You: We’re looking for an ambitious and proactive leader with a proven track record in manufacturing or FMCG environments. You’ll bring strong people management skills, including resource planning, performance development, and quality assurance, and have a keen eye for identifying areas of improvement. This role is ideal for someone ready to grow and take the next step in their career. Other essential skills that will make you successful in the role: Knowledge of health & safety practices and safety-first mindset. Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
