About the role
Do you want to be part of our energetic team of mechanics repairing our fleet of vehicles? If yes, then this shift mechanic position could just be the job for you! We'd love to hear from you if you have a Level 3 NVQ qualification or equivalent in vehicle mechanics or engineering. For helping keep our fleet on the road, you'll earn a good hourly pay-rate and great rewards & benefits (see below).
The successful bus Mechanic will be responsible for the following duties:
Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using hand-held data capture devices if applicable
Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries
Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair.
Hourly Rate
£18.05 p/h + £2,000 JOINING BONUS
Working Shift Pattern
Working 5 out of 7 days a week, Plus 1 weekend in 6
Monday - Friday 06:00 - 14:00, 07:00 - 15:00, 08:00 - 16:00, and 10:00 - 18:00
Saturday & Sunday 06:00 - 12:30pm
About you
A minimum Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent qualifications.
Ability to multi-skill within an Engineering Environment
A flexible approach to working hours
Must be a UK resident.
A PCV licence is desirable; ability to obtain PCV licence is essential (we will help you obtain this)
Experience of working with buses, trucks, HGV/PSV, or coaches would be an advantage
A basic electrical understanding is essential
