Shift Technician

Shift Technician focuses on provide 24/7 monitoring of critical m&e plant via bms.

What the role involves

• Provide 24/7 monitoring of critical M&E plant via BMS.
• Maintaining accurate shift logs, incident reports, and handover documentation.
• Conduct routine site walkdowns, plant readings, and condition-based inspections across electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems.
• Ensure data hall environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow, differential pressure) remain within agreed operational parameters.
• Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) on-shift.
• Supporting major maintenance windows and customer-impacting works, executing and drafting Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and EOPs.

Skills and requirements

• Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, HNC, or above).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a critical environment: data centre, pharmaceutical, hospital, broadcast, financial trading floor, or similar 24/7 mission-critical setting.
• Demonstrable experience working within a Permit to Work environment and a clear understanding of LOTO/safe isolation principles.
• Willingness and ability to work a continental shift pattern, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
