Ambitek are currently recruiting for a Marine Project Manager (Ship Manager) for our client based over in Birkenhead. Main Responsibilities: Oversee daily schedules and maintain effective communication with teams. Enhance productivity and efficiency across all operations. Focus on increasing gross margins, reducing costs, and maximizing sales opportunities. Coordinate various trade disciplines and subcontractors to ensure timely and efficient completion of work. Optimize resource levels for better workflow. Manage the costs of materials and consumables effectively. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and encourage innovation. Regularly monitor performance and adjust outputs when necessary. Demonstrate commercial awareness and decision-making related to "build or buy" strategies. Ensure compliance with company standards and codes, including ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO18001. Uphold and enforce QA/QC procedures, ensuring all departmental work adheres to the required regulations. Ensure all work under your control aligns with the company's Occupational Health & Safety Management System. Conduct frequent work area inspections to identify and eliminate hazardous conditions and practices. Skills and Qualifications: Essential: Apprenticeship, HNC/HND level qualification, or equivalent experience in Marine/Mechanical/Electrical disciplines. Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of marine vessels, along with a solid understanding of Planned Maintenance Systems. Desirable: Knowledge of Classification Society Rules. Experience supporting vessel docking and maintenance periods. Ideal Candidate Traits: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive productivity and efficiency. Proactive, self-starter capable of engaging with senior-level stakeholders. Highly organized, flexible, and pragmatic.
