Job Description: Shop Manager As a Shop Maintenance Manager, you will provide comprehensive maintenance services on various company vehicles, including buses, vans, and service vehicles. Responsibilities include collaborating closely with the dispatch office and terminal manager for scheduling repairs and services. Additionally, you'll lead your maintenance team in handling both scheduled and unscheduled repairs. Diagnosing and repairing Class 8 Tractors and tank trailers (Liquid and Dry) is a key aspect of this role, along with delegating repairs as necessary. In-depth knowledge of multiple OEM drivetrains and other systems is essential. Familiarity with maintenance tracking systems (TMT, preferred) and adherence to Quantix's maintenance standard operating procedures are required. Track and maintain inventory on a monthly and quarterly basis. Ensure parts/consumable levels sync with usage. Job Duties: Learn and use our maintenance tracking system to complete work orders and stay compliant on scheduled services. Ensure RO/Pos are opened and closed timely. Create strategy to disperse daily/weekly tasks/assignments to the shop technicians. Ensure Repair Orders are accurate reflective of all labor and parts usage. Follow schedule to ensure completion of all required PM maintenance operations including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation. Plan and execute unscheduled maintenance as needed such as DVIR repairs. Provide continual training and support to the shop technicians. Must be able to utilize a ladder and other elevation equipment to access the top of tractors and trailers for repairs and maintenance. Emergency conditions may require calls at home, extended hours, or weekend work when available. Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately. Maintain tools and workplace so that conditions are neat and orderly. Must be thoroughly familiar with all safety provisions associated with vehicle maintenance. Understand and conform to State EPA regulations regarding disposal of toxic waste substances. Strong understanding and abide by OSHA standards/provisions. Perform other duties as required. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. At least 7 years’ experience as a mechanic in a trucking environment, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior shop management experience preferred. Positive attitude and willingness to continue learning a must. Provide your own hand tools required for regular maintenance. Current State Driver's License with a clean driving record and ability to maintain. Knowledge of tools, procedures, technical skills, and safety rules used in the maintenance and repair of gasoline, diesel, and alternative powered equipment. Operational knowledge of diesel and shop equipment and tools. Inspection of equipment and diagnose mechanical defects. This position may require an employee to drive a vehicle. This means that the hiring process will include verification that the candidate has a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for employment. Background screening and drug test required prior to start of employment.
