. Welder/Fabricator Job Summary Assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a manufacturing organization. Essential duties and responsibilities Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products Prefer candidate with GMAW and GTAW experience in aluminum, steel and stainless steel Utilize handheld tools such as a hand held screw gun, drill gun, and grinders Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tools Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods Continually evaluate weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle times Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff Maintain a clean and safe work area Qualification requirements High School Diploma or GED Must be able to pass a 3G plate test Basic reading skills and must be able to follow directions Basic computer navigation and utilization skills preferred Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem High attention to detail and self-motivation skills Specific technical or vocational training or certification preferred Work in a team environment and respect all teammates Must be able to pass a 4G plate test Physical demands and abilities Regularly lift 30-50 pounds Regularly perform repetitive tasks Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately Ability to operate a fork-lift and an overhead crane From internships to seasoned professionals, our growing company provides career opportunities for all levels of experience.
