Are you ready to take on an exciting leadership role within the rail industry? Join a fast-growing Tier 1 contractor involved in delivering some of the most ambitious rail infrastructure projects in the UK. We're seeking an experienced Signaling Design Manager to lead a dynamic team in the Stockport office.

Opportunity

As Design Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day output of a talented team of up to 10 engineers, working on a portfolio of projects across the S&T Western Framework and the Southern Rail Systems Alliance (SRSA). Reporting directly to the Head of Design, you'll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, technically robust signaling designs, working across GRIP stages 1-8.

Key Responsibilities

Managing and mentoring junior and less experienced engineers. Leading the delivery of signaling and telecoms designs for major frameworks and contracts. Collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to meet project deadlines and quality standards. Contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and methodologies.

Essential Criteria

A strong background in the signaling industry, with robust technical design expertise across the full GRIP 1-8 lifecycle. Knowledge of commercial principles and project management experience. The ability to produce GRIP 4 designs is highly desirable. Exceptional communication skills to manage relationships with stakeholders and subcontractors effectively.
