Responsible for the assessment of patients' care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of patient care. Supports the Ward Manager to ensure effective leadership and management of the ward/department, including supervision and delegation of work to junior staff as directed by the ward/department manager. Participates in teaching, mentoring and assessing of students, trainees and professional staff. About us

Experience
2 years band 5 post registration experience working in a ward setting. Delivered improvement in patient care. Worked within a multidisciplinary team. Skills
Ability to prioritise and problem solve. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Additional clinical skills - cannulation, phlebotomy, intravenous drugs, ECG interpretation. Ability to make decisions and escalate appropriately. Ability to challenge practice and support staff. Knowledge
Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality. Understands how acute medicine patient flow works. Qualifications
Teaching and Assessing in practice qualification (SLIP/ENB 6590 /998). Diploma/Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience/working towards. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
