Ty Bryngwyn Inpatient Hospice is a Specialist Palliative Care unit based on the Prince Phillip Hospital site in Llanelli. The unit provides inpatient care for complex Specialist Palliative Care patients requiring symptom control, management and wider MDT input.
We are looking for a motivated enthusiastic individual with Palliative Care experience to join the team of dedicated nurses working within this speciality. This role is for a period of 12 months covering maternity leave.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for professional and personal development within these challenging and rewarding speciality. We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable nurse who is willing to embrace this environment whilst being able to motivate and encourage other members of the team. The team is very dynamic, eager to learn and develop and supportive of each other. You will work with a nursing team, alongside consultants and the medical teams, various nurse specialists, physiotherapists and other members of the MDT to ensure a high standard of patient focused care. Ongoing training will be supported in relation to the care of patients within this speciality and the successful candidate will be expected to engage in leadership for all aspects of patient care, staffing and service delivery. Experience in this role is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for professional development. Essential Registered Nurse (Part 1) Current NMC Registration Pertinent postgraduate diploma (or equivalent development / experience and a willingness to undertake appropriate post graduate diploma level study) Bachelor degree (or equivalent experience) Specialist Palliative Care Registered Nurse Experience Desirable Recognised management qualification Teaching qualification (or equivalent experience) Experience Essential Appropriate experience within specialty and able to demonstrate sound knowledge of relevant specialty Able to demonstrate sound knowledge of NMC Code (2015) Experience of working in a multi professional environment Experience of running a ward/area/department Experience of working with pre registration nursing / midwifery students Experience of formal /informal teaching and of mentoring pre-registration nursing or midwifery students.
