We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is an excellent communicator and has a genuine interest in developing their critical care skills. Interpersonal skills are essential, and the candidate will demonstrate the ability to be forward-thinking and passionate about delivering high standards of care.
Conquest Critical Care currently is an 11-bedded unit, comprising 6 Level 3 (ITU) beds and 5 Level 2 (HDU) beds. There are plans to increase to 14 beds in 2024.
The role involves working within the multi-disciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for level 2 and 3 patients. This includes providing comprehensive patient care and ensuring the optimum level of physical and psychological well-being is maintained throughout the period of critical illness. The successful candidate will also provide support to significant others, such as relatives and families, during this time. Additionally, the candidate will support senior and junior colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care on a shift-to-shift basis and will “take charge” of the unit in the absence of Senior Sister/Charge Nurse colleagues.
