We are excited to invite applications for the position of Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our dynamic and supportive team on Vickers 2 and Vickers 3 at the Northern General Hospital. Our acute diabetes and endocrinology wards provide high-quality, patient-centred care for individuals with complex medical needs, including those with mental health conditions. Each ward has a unique specialty: Vickers 2 specialises in diabetic foot care, offering expert support to patients with complex diabetic foot complications. Vickers 3 is the designated safe haven for individuals with eating disorders, providing holistic and compassionate care tailored to their needs. Both wards share a commitment to excellence in acute care, integrating physical and mental health management to address the multifaceted needs of our patients. We're seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals who have: A proven track record in delivering high standards of care. Strong leadership and decision-making skills. A passion for diabetes and endocrinology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and support the team. Evidence of ongoing professional development. Main duties of the job As a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in leading, inspiring, and supporting a team of skilled professionals. You will be responsible for: Delivering exceptional nursing care, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and compassion. Supporting the professional development and wellbeing of staff through mentorship, appraisals, and education. Coordinating patient care in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The Care Group has 11 acute base wards at the Northern General Hospital and one acute and one elective base ward at the Central Campus. Outpatient services operate on both campus' and are supported by the Patient Booking Hub at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
