St Matthias Academy is a small, nurturing education community with three sites across Bristol and Bath—Fishponds for KS3 & KS4, Brentry for KS3, and Rush Hill for KS3 & KS4. Job Purpose As a Site Assistant at St Matthias Academy, you will ensure the effective operation of our three sites, maintaining a safe and secure environment. We seek an enthusiastic individual with school site experience who excels in communication and customer service. This demanding role requires flexibility, responsiveness, and the ability to prioritise tasks. Qualifications Experience in building or facilities maintenance. Full driving licence. First Aid certification and relevant trade qualifications (desirable). Knowledge of health and safety regulations (COSHH, Fire Safety). Experience Strong practical skills in tasks like gardening and small projects. Teamwork experience and ability to interact with diverse individuals, including those with special educational needs. Familiarity with managing challenging behaviour. Excellent communication and ICT skills. Commitment to team collaboration and ongoing professional development. Positive attitude and good sense of humour. Working Conditions Non-smoking environment. Must be physically fit for manual tasks, including bending and lifting, and able to work in various weather conditions.
