Thornden School, part of HISP Multi Academy Trust, is seeking a dedicated Site Assistant to join our team. Principal responsibilities of our Site Assistant:
To assist with the maintenance of the physical resources on the site including buildings, grounds, materials, and equipment, so that optimum use can be made of them for both school and community purposes.
To support the Estates & Facilities Manager with all aspects of maintaining compliance. This includes but is not limited to undertaking visual checks of buildings & grounds, weekly fire alarm testing, monthly fire extinguishers check, emergency light testing, and ladder inspections.
To be a main point of contact for school security, including the opening and closing of the school as well as outside of usual school hours to support school & Trust events.
To be someone with keyholder responsibilities who can attend on an emergency call-out basis where needed.
To ensure the school and its grounds are always maintained to a high standard.
To report any defects or hazards in a timely manner to the Site Manager.
Our Site Assistant should have:
5 GCSEs including maths and English.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Experience of managing their own workload from time to time.
Strong organisational skills.
Good written and oral communication skills.
The ability to complete tasks to a high standard.
Ability to work under pressure.
A conscientious self-starter, demonstrating a “can-do” positive attitude.
Well-developed interpersonal skills enabling effective relationships to be built with a wide variety of people.
Enthusiastic, approachable, and well-mannered.
