OPPORTUNITY FOR A CHEMISTRY GRADUATE TO WORK AS A SITE CHEMIST WITH A LEADING WASTE MANAGEMENT COMPANY Title:

Site Chemist / Chemistry Graduate – Hazardous Waste LOCATION:

Exeter area DEVELOPMENT:

You will be offered full career development and training with long term potential to progress into more senior positions once you have gained experience. ROLE – Site Chemist / Chemistry Graduate – Hazardous Waste

This role is 70% site based, so would suit a hands-on person that likes being outdoors. Only around 10-15% of the job is lab based, and is a Hi-Vis role rather than a white coat role. The role is mainly unloading HGV’s with hazardous waste, ensuring the waste matches the documentation, and assessing if it can be bulked into larger containers, ensuring safe storage, and preparing loads to leave site. You will undertake testing incoming materials for pH, flammability, and compatibility for bulking, and ensure goods are correctly labelled. You will complete all relevant paperwork and ensure compliance within Safety, Environmental and Company policy. You may be required to operate a forklift (training given). EXPERIENCE – Site Chemist / Chemistry Graduate – Hazardous Waste

You will ideally have an HNC or above in Chemistry. Other Science Degrees may be considered if 4 of the modules in the degree contain the word Chemistry in the title, this is non-negotiable as it is required to satisfy environment agency permitting requirements. You will demonstrate willingness to work outside and may have interests that demonstrate that e.g. playing outdoor sports. You will have a UK Driving Licence. Any work that you have done outside would also be of benefit. VAC REF NO.:
