The acceptance of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste into one of our permitted facilities including verification checks via wet chemistry analysis and additional resource/equipment in the onsite laboratory facilities. Ensuring the correct labelling, segregation and storage of hazardous waste, in line with all company procedures and regulatory requirements. Ensuring paperwork for incoming waste is compliant and correctly completed for invoicing in a timely manner. Follow the appropriate non-conformance process if material arriving at the site falls outside that of what is expected. Preparing outgoing load lists, and appropriately book these loads into the correct facility following the waste hierarchy. Working alongside site operatives to ensure that waste is processed, stored and transferred in a safe, compliant and timely manner. Assisting with the control of material flows through the facility and ensuring supply container stocks are maintained to avoid delays and backlogs. Laboratory analysis of site effluent and other customer samples – depending on facility operated from. Compatibility testing of wastes to ensure no adverse reaction occurs in preparation for repacking or bulking activities. Repacking of wastes such as laboratory smalls, ensuring compliance with appropriate material segregation, labelling requirements, and appropriate packing requirements. Provide support to the Senior Chemist, Site Manager and operatives in the day to day running of the site in line with all relevant permit and legislative requirements, to ensure effective operation of all area processes, managing scheduled input, through-put and handling of inputs and effective output of waste from the facility. Occasional chemical listing and repacking at customer sites in preparation for collection. To maintain effective record keeping and documentation, to include the running of the site's stock control system, production records and in-process records. This role does involve mainly outdoor hands-on work, as well as some laboratory work, office work utilising our bespoke operational system along with Microsoft software. To be considered for this role you must hold a either a chemistry degree, HNC or HND. Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions. An adaptive and problem-solving approach to tasks, with good organisational and verbal/written skills. Experience within the environmental, waste or chemical industry would be an advantage but not necessarily essential to the right candidate. The successful candidate will be able to expand and develop the role and work in line with our competence training. Nice To Have
