Site Engineer
to join a commercial build project in the Ashford area. This freelance role will span approximately 8 months and focuses on
groundworks ,
earthworks , and
foundations,
and
steel frame. About the Role: As the Site Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the technical aspects of the project are delivered to specification. You will work closely with the project team and subcontractors to manage the setting-out, quality control, and accurate documentation of progress. Key Responsibilities: Setting-Out and Levelling:
Utilize site plans and drawings to ensure precise alignment for groundworks, foundations, and earthworks. Surveying:
Carry out on-site surveys and checks to maintain accuracy in construction. Coordination:
Work alongside site management and subcontractors to ensure smooth operations. Quality Assurance:
Ensure all works are completed to the required standards and specifications. Problem-Solving:
Address technical challenges proactively to maintain project timelines. Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of site activities, materials used, and progress. What We re Looking For: Experience: Proven experience as a Site Engineer on commercial build projects, particularly with groundworks, earthworks, and foundation work. Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering (preferred). Certifications: CSCS card required; SMSTS and First Aid desirable. Skills: Proficiency in setting-out using instruments such as Total Stations or GPS. Strong communication and organizational skills. Location: Based in or able to commute to the Kent area.
