Abatec is recruiting for a freelance Site Engineer to join one of South West's biggest Civil Engineering projects. This is an opportunity to join an award-winning tier-one contractor that has secured an exciting, challenging, and ongoing project in Plymouth, Devon.
The successful candidate will have previously worked in a similar position on major projects and will be required to manage the technical compliance of the project to the design specification to fulfil the assigned project safely, on time, and to the required quality.
As Site Engineer you will:
Have a minimum of 1-2 years' experience in setting out on civil engineering schemes. Use a robotic total station to provide levelling and survey the site. Check drawings and quantities, ensuring the accuracy of calculations. Assist in the preparation of 'as-built drawings.' Comply with the site-specific health and safety protocols to ensure any health and safety concerns are identified and reported as necessary. Our client requires a Site Engineer with:
Experience with Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical, and digital levels). Valid CSCS and experience of robotic total stations. A good understanding of construction health & safety protocols. Excellent communication skills. Experience in Groundworks, Earthworks, and RC works. Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable. Due to the nature of the scheme, the successful engineer will be required to undergo SC clearance. Salary/Benefits:
