BCS Connect are working with a client who is seeking to employ an experienced Site Engineer for their scheme based in the Scarborough area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in housing and civil engineering. They are looking for someone who is experienced in 278 works, roads and sewers, and groundworks related projects.

The position is for a 6-month long-term project, starting on 6th January 2025.

Your responsibilities will include:

To be fully conversant with all contract drawings and specifications and their application to the works under construction. To undertake the setting out of the works and carry out independent checks. Quantify material requirements in advance for call off. Manage all groundworks and civil engineering aspects on site. Assist in the preparation of updating programs and resource requirements as works progress. To assist in the measurement of the works with the engineer's representatives, engineer, or clerk of works. Be conversant with the company's policies and manuals covering Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and environmental issues. Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and site staff to ensure smooth project delivery. To assist in ensuring work is carried out cost-effectively. To assist in ensuring a high standard of quality work and report any defects to the Site Agent. To assist in maintaining site tidiness and cleanliness. To assist in maintaining good public relations during the works. To attend internal site meetings as required. Candidate Requirements:

Strong engineering background with proven experience in housing projects. HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering or similar is ideal, but applicants with relevant experience and no degree will not be at a disadvantage. 5+ years in a Site Engineering role. Experience in 278 works, roads & sewers, and groundworks. Experience managing projects and coordinating on-site activities. Capable of using Total Station Survey and GNSS equipment. IT literacy. Proactive and good problem-solving skills. A team player, good attitude, and willingness to learn.
