September 26, 2024 Experienced Site Manager required take the lead on a £10m change of use scheme, from commercial to residential. Reporting to the visiting Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing all site based construction activities including short-term programming of works, health and safety, review of method statements, risk assessments, call off of materials, logistics, quality control, client liaison, coordination meetings, reporting on progress against program, etc, snagging and handover. This project is due to commence on site in the summer and comprises 17 one bedroom, 17 two bedroom and 3 three bedroom flats with associated ground floor space, works, parking, access and landscaping. This role is with the regional office of a south coast based main contractor with a good pipeline of work in the Dorset area. About the Company/Client/Project: The contractor is a busy national contractor with a £70m annual turnover in the region, and a proven track record in the delivery of new build and refurbishment schemes in the education, defence, local authority, blue light, commercial and student accommodation sectors. Typical patch covers Bristol and the wider western region. Requirements including certificates and qualifications: The successful candidate will have 5 years+ of experience as a Site Manager, will be self-motivated, proactive, demonstrating excellent technical, organisational, man-management, communication and communication skills. Proven track record of work for a top twenty main contractor advantageous. Previous experience of refurbishment or a change of use project would be advantageous. Ideally from a trades, construction management or engineering background with a sharp eye for detail, you will possess excellent communication and man management skills, be well organised and proactive. You will have sound planning and problem solving ability, with a positive, 'get it right first time' approach. You will possess your SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications for this role. You will be experienced in the Site Management role, with a proven track record of successful project delivery placing safety, quality, positive client relationship, and supply chain relationships as priorities. If you have experience of mentoring junior managers and engineers also, that would be useful.
