Job Specification: Site Manager (Solar Farm Project) - Luton Project Duration : 9-12 months Location : Luton, UK Day Rate : Negotiable depending on skills and experience About the Project : We are seeking an experienced Site Manager for a solar farm project located in Luton. The project involves the construction of a solar energy facility, with a duration of 9-12 months. The ideal candidate will have experience in the renewables sector or transmission and distribution (T&D) projects, with a strong track record of managing site operations, ensuring safety, quality, and progress. Key Responsibilities : Oversee the day-to-day operations on site for the solar farm project. Ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work progress and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Lead and supervise the site team, including junior managers, engineers, and labour force. Resolve site issues, handle logistics, and mitigate risks to ensure smooth operations. Provide regular progress reports to senior management and stakeholders. Work closely with the project management team to ensure effective project delivery. Monitor and enforce the implementation of the project schedule and milestones. Oversee quality control processes, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard. Key Requirements : SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification is essential. Proven experience as a Site Manager in the construction or renewables sector, with a strong background in solar farms or transmission and distribution projects. Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation, risk management, and quality control. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues in a timely and efficient manner. Experience in managing site logistics, subcontractors, and suppliers. Proficient in using construction management software and tools. Ability to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines. Full driving license and ability to travel to and from site as required. Desirable Skills : Background in large-scale renewable energy projects (solar, wind, etc.). Knowledge of environmental considerations in renewable energy projects. Strong understanding of electrical systems, transmission, and distribution. Experience working on projects with multiple stakeholders, including government bodies, contractors, and clients.
