A leading civil engineering firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Foreman to join our team on a major highway project in Bedford. This is an opportunity to contribute to a project that will enhance the region's transportation network and contribute to its economic development.
What You'll Do:
Lead and supervise a team of skilled workers and subcontractors, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of construction activities on the highway project. Maintain high standards of quality and productivity, adhering to project specifications, drawings, and all relevant regulations. Oversee a variety of construction tasks, including earthworks, drainage, surfacing, and utility installation. Coordinate with project management, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project progress. Champion safety on the project, actively promoting a culture of awareness and ensuring the highest safety standards are consistently met. Contribute to the successful completion of the project, meeting deadlines and achieving the highest quality standards.
What We Need: Proven experience as a Site Manager on major highway or road construction projects. Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant health and safety standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing a team and collaborating with stakeholders. A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a commitment to achieving project goals on time and within budget. A strong commitment to safety, with a proven ability to implement and uphold the highest safety standards.
