Site Manager (Resident Caretaker)
Full time, year round, including out of hours emergency call-out and some weekend rota working. On-site accommodation provided – 2 bedroom cottage. Competitive salary and contributory pension scheme. Caldicott is one of the country’s most prestigious Independent Boarding and Day Preparatory Schools for Boys, with around 250 boys aged 7 to 13 years. We deliver a first-class education, sporting provision, and a rich variety of music, drama, arts, and extracurricular opportunities in a friendly and supportive working environment. The School is located only twenty miles from central London in a beautiful area. We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Manager to join us to ensure that the School site is presented to a very high standard and creates a good impression for visitors at all times. As the next stage of our site development works begins in 2025, with the building of a new Pavilion and offices, the Site Manager will be pivotal in the coordination between contractors and staff to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the site, maintaining presentation standards throughout. The caretaking aspect of this role includes responsibility for site security, Fire Warden duties, School opening and closing operations, swimming pool maintenance, and being part of the Maintenance team. You will need previous site supervision, caretaking, and maintenance experience, ideally in a school or hotel environment. It is essential that you are highly organized, confident in developing strong working relationships, and an effective communicator. Caldicott is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
