The successful candidate will have a proven ability to build excellent working relationships, be able to calmly and confidently prioritise to manage competing demands and have the necessary skills to identify and mitigate risks as they arise. They will be an effective communicator with methods to ensure all stakeholders in the Department are kept informed and included in developments, an ability to effectively influence and motivate and have an excellent understanding of the requirements needed to deliver performance standards.
This role would be an ideal opportunity for an experienced operational manager to expand their portfolio or for someone looking to develop their leadership experience in a dynamic operational role. The post will also provide exposure to Divisional working through inclusion in Directorate wide programmes of work.
Main duties of the job The Site Specialty Manager will have delegated responsibilities for a range of operational activities, with a focus on the following: Management of clinical rotas and administrative staff Lead the operational management of theatre and outpatient sessions with booking teams and clinicians Confidently challenge inefficiencies giving context and support of analytical data Create and maintain strong working relationships with clinical, administrative & managerial colleagues Produce high level reports to present to clinical and senior management teams Evaluate existing pathways and processes to identify, lead and develop areas to improve Engage with all surgical specialties to identify tailored approaches to address and improve inefficiencies Promote good practices and standardise ways of working Devote a patient focused approach to all aspects of this role
