Your new company As the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades and support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit a Supervisor for the Facilities Team at HMP Hull. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the prison service and can often lead to permanent opportunities.

Your new role Assist in and supervise the delivery of a range of facilities services to the prison in line with contractual commitments. Compliance focused. Managing staff and external contractors. Help to maintain standards as set out in the Service Level Agreement. Communicate problems and concerns promptly through line management, ensuring quick resolution. Ensure the health, safety and security of staff, contractors, premises, and equipment by encouraging and monitoring best practices at all times. Check and sign timesheets in accordance with procedures. Ensure all requirements are met through liaising with HMPS management to receive and manage expectations. This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate. Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.

Hours:

Monday - Friday 39 hours per week (1 in 3 weekends required)

What you'll need to succeed Strong communication and organisational skills. Previous experience of working within the Facilities/Estate management sector. Facilities Management qualifications are advantageous, as is a trade qualification (not essential). Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and compliance. IT Literate. Team management, working on own initiative, understanding deadlines and prioritising workload. Management of engineers, dealing with customer and client.

Ideally, you will be qualified in IOSH and NEBOSH with experience in Facilities Management.

You must be able to pass a full prison security clearance and enhanced DBS (if required) (Hays and the MOJ are responsible for organising all security clearances and DBS’). You must hold a valid passport or Full Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence at your current address. You must have proof of National Insurance AND proof of address dated in the past 3 months.
