Our key Defence Client seeks skilled operatives to work in their world-class manufacturing facility. Salary:

£31,000 - £34,000/annum with excellent overtime and benefits. ARE YOU A SKILLED FITTER? This is a four-day-a-week opportunity. You must be capable of obtaining SC Clearance and commit to three months (expensed) training in Bedfordshire prior to completing the remainder of the three-year contract. As a minimum, you will be a skilled fitter/assembler, perhaps from an aircraft/aerospace/vehicular/trains/coach building background. The successful candidate will join a thriving and modern environment, working from test procedures and engineering instructions on a programme critical to the MOD. You will be tasked with performing precise and methodical completion of a range of test procedures on high-value hardware. Ability to complete setups and perform quality and performance testing. Ability to work from written instructions with limited supervision. Ability to use hand tools and measuring equipment with high accuracy. Ability to liaise with the test support, engineering, and Quality functions. Attention to detail and ability to self-inspect work to ensure quality defects are mitigated. Hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting. Understanding of “clean as you go”/6S/FOD/Tool control programs mandatory. Experienced with quality inspection points and process documentation. A very high level of health and safety awareness. Must be able to take direction well and be a strong team player. Extreme attention to detail and continual pursuit of perfection. Excellent listening and communication skills. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills are also required.
