About The Role Please note that this is a temporary opportunity due to maternity cover until 10/07/2025, although it could be extended.

Working Hours: 7.5 per week Salary (pro rata): £4974 (£24,542 FTE) As a Skills Practitioner for East Kent Colleges Group - Canterbury College, you will provide learning and technical support to staff and students within the division and undertake assessment and quality assurance duties as required by the College and awarding bodies.

You will liaise with internal and external customers and stakeholders, provide feedback to students that will aid successful progression and achievement. We are looking for a Fashion and Textiles Skills Practitioner that can support our staff, department, and students to facilitate them in their creative courses. The successful candidate will have experience in garment construction as well as print processes, pattern cutting, and other associated textile techniques and processes. We are seeking to appoint an organised and efficient member to our team who has excellent communication skills and can facilitate learners on tasks. You will also provide demonstrations as required in class to aid the delivery of outstanding provision within EKC Group. The ideal candidate will have recent industrial experience in a relevant area. Ideally, they will have experience of education or involvement in training in the workplace. They will be able to work with young people to achieve and succeed their full potential aligned with the culture and ethos of the Group. The successful candidate will have a key responsibility for instilling and upholding strong Health & Safety standards in practical environments and will purchase resources and materials within budget.
