Work to manufacturer’s instructions at all times. Establish weights and the effect of the centre of gravity, balance loads and judge distances and clearances. Select the appropriate lifting accessories and check that they are in a suitable condition. Initiate safe movement of the crane and load using the designated signalling method. Liaise with Project Manager upon arrival on site. Be able to resist pressures from other persons to carry out unsafe operations. Be aware of the effects of wind and other climatic effects on the crane and load. Be able to take the action to avoid dangerous situations, including stopping operations. Operate fire suppressant equipment, if fitted. Qualifications and Skills Valid CPCS A40 Slinger Signaller (Blue Card) Previous experience in slinger roles. Excellent verbal communication skills. Confident decision-maker with the ability to challenge senior staff when necessary.
