An SLM Data Architect is required for a long-term contract assignment in Stevenage.

Dynamic (Hybrid) working - 3-4 days on site per week.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Data Architect to work with the customer support department and project teams to develop database solutions, analyzing structural requirements for new software, migrating data from legacy systems, and designing conceptual and logical data models. The successful applicant will be working to organize and optimize the data, the database systems, define security procedures, and collaborate with the business department to identify future needs and requirements.

Responsibilities:

Develop database solutions to store and retrieve company information. Install and configure information systems to ensure functionality. Analyze, plan, and define data architecture framework, including security, reference data, metadata, and master data. Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions. Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts. Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new elements. Optimize new and current database systems. Define security and backup procedures. Collaborate with other teams within the organization to devise and implement data strategies, build models, and assess shareholder needs and goals. Provide operational support for Management Information Systems.

Requirements and skills: Proficiency in SQL is essential and experience with data visualization is highly desirable. Proficiency in MS Excel. Experience in data modeling, metadata management, data synthesis. Proven work experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, or similar role. In-depth understanding of database structure principles. Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements. Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques. Proven analytical skills. Problem-solving attitude. BSc in Computer Science or relevant field.
