Practice: Hook Norton Veterinary Group Yes, as a Small Animal vet, you can have it all… A reputable, large, independent practice with working patterns to fit around your needs and a superb remuneration package. Working Patterns: All working patterns considered (full-time, part-time, weekend only, annualised hours, branch work only). Our standard pattern is 4 weekdays (8 am till 6.30 pm) plus OOH participation (1:6 weekends and occasional nights, with a day off in recompense). Locations: Busy first opinion practice and/or sole charge Branch work. Typically, our Small Animal Vets are based on-site at our busy Hospital in Hook Norton, where there is a fair mix of consult, ops and hospital shifts, plus a regular, sole charge slot at your local branch. Our awesome Nursing and Reception Teams support all locations. With 15-minute consults (increased for more complex cases) and regular administrative breaks, our rotas are designed to be realistic to meet the pet’s needs. You can rest easy, knowing that once your shift ends, you can hand over to our dedicated in-house Night/OOH Vet and Nursing Team, who will look after our in-patients and emergencies throughout the night. You will need the ability to formulate and carry out a clinical plan with a team that is both progressive and open to new ideas. We take pride in offering a high standard of care to clients and patients, and we enable and empower our vets to be able to do the same. Our large and loyal client base provides you with a full and varied caseload, offering plenty of opportunities to further your surgical and medical experience. In addition, we will help you develop your veterinary skills in any field of interest in a very supportive environment. Mentoring is offered via designated internal staff and complemented with a career pathway designed to support your long-term aspirations. The Small Animal Team, including the Vets, Nurses, and Receptionists, is fully committed to providing the very best care. Our ethos is to support each other fully until each case is complete. A strong Small Animal Nursing team of 26, consisting of 17 RVNs (including Head of Nursing Services and clinical Leads) and 9 SVNs/VNAs/ANAs. Our in-house laboratory is fully staffed and available at all times. Our Small Animal Veterinary Coordinator is available 5 days a week to help with admin and referral support. HNVG is owned and managed by six Directors who are all practising vets. They are fully immersed in the business’s daily operations, making HNVG agile and responsive. We have a growing team that provides excellent support and contributes to the growth of the team and the practice.
