The Company A Mechanical services contractor based in Taunton, Somerset, working within the commercial and residential sectors. We carry out heating, plumbing, ventilation, and air conditioning installations to schools, offices, factories, churches, and residential properties.
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Small Works Manager to join our team. As a Small Works Manager, you will be responsible for pricing small projects, addressing client requirements to completion, and overseeing day-to-day maintenance call outs. This is a key leadership role that requires strong management skills and the ability to communicate at all levels, working on projects £15,000 and under.
Responsibilities Manage and organize engineers to carry out small works as necessary. Negotiate, place orders, and correspond with specialist subcontractors. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment. Work to deadlines, as part of a team, and use own initiative. Attend sites to carry out surveys and gather information for compiling quotations. Prepare cost estimates based on labor, plant, materials, etc. Create formal letters and quotations to clients.
Skills Minimum of 5 years’ experience in heating and plumbing. NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing. Excellent communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Good computer skills. Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices. Proactive follow-up of quotes/enquiries and log feedback.
Pay: £45,000 – £50,000 Monday to Friday Additional Training courses / HNC offered
