Job Purpose As an Associate Director, you will lead our offering to SME businesses across Scotland, delivering this as appropriate across our Glasgow and Edinburgh offices, whilst accessing the full benefits of Forvis Mazars hybrid working policy, guided by the best interests of the client, the team, and the wider department, and to support our go-to-market activities. You will also work collaboratively across the national SME team to develop and deliver compliance and advisory services to businesses in the SME market. You'll be client-facing and will lead the relationship across a portfolio of clients, working with them to coordinate the delivery of their compliance needs (both business and personal), but also delivering service excellence through proactive advice and support, and becoming a trusted advisor for those clients. You will also collaborate across other service lines to ensure we are solutions-focused in our delivery to clients and proactively seeking to add value every step of the way. The role is an Associate Director role, reporting directly into the National Head of SME. Role & Responsibilities Deliver a high-quality compliance service to the existing portfolio of SME clients, including (but not limited to) unaudited statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, iXBRL tagging, personal tax returns, VAT, and management accounts. Develop our SME offering, enhancing the number of services and support provided to the existing client base. Lead the Scotland SME team and build a team for the future, upskilling staff on compliance and advisory matters. Work with the national SME team to coordinate our approach and ensure consistency to clients and to the market, as well as maximizing the use of national resources to aid efficiencies and effectiveness of service. Assist on our digital go-to-market strategy. Seek to actively build yours, the SME team, and the Forvis Mazars profile both internally and externally in the local market. Maintain a client-centric approach. Skills, Knowledge and Experience CA, ACA, or ACCA qualified. Experience with delivering accounting and taxation compliance services. Management of key clients and a significant portfolio holder. Ability to win new work and develop business. Passionate about technology and a growth mindset. Analytical, with demonstrated examples of problem solving. Good level of commercial awareness and an understanding of various business models used in different sectors. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to work well in a team combined with experience of leading a team, and strong people and time management skills.
