This role is a key position with the UK Employee Benefits Sales team. SME distribution is crucial to the UK Employee Benefits strategy and the SME Development Manager provides the lead in devising and executing on the SME strategy. The SME Development Manager will also report directly into the EB National Sales Manager. Reporting directly to the UK EB National Sales Manager, the SME Development Manager will: Collaborate with the business to deliver an effective SME strategy for the UK, aligned with Product, Marketing, Customer Service and other support functions to ensure delivery of SME Sales targets. Achieve ambitious sales targets through a structured sales process. Expand SME distribution by ensuring we continue to innovate in the SME segment to include driving the ongoing development of the Accelerate portal. Work alongside the UK EB National Sales Manager to embed and drive best SME distribution practices within the UK Sales team. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement an effective SME Sales strategy. Lead and oversee continued development of the Accelerate online portal – and the SME Development Manager should be an active participant at PI events to ensure that this has the requisite focus ongoing. Ensure over achievement of SME NB Sales and retention targets. Create a dynamic energetic sales culture within the EB Sales team in respect to SME and tirelessly reinforce high expectations. Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned Target broker accounts. Negotiate and close SME preferred partnership agreements with broker partners. Monitor and analyze SME performance metrics and suggest improvements. Prepare monthly/quarterly and annual SME Sales forecasts that can be shared with key stakeholders and give a detailed overview of current SME performance. Use Sales MI to effectively report and manage on Key trends on Sales at MetLife and our competitors. Perform research and identify new potential customers or channels for SME Distribution development. Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with clients’ needs. Work closely with Marketing and Product to ensure brand consistency and active SME promotion. Provide leadership to create individual Sales team business plans to support them in achieving their sales SME Sales goals. Keep abreast of new product and market innovation and ensure the sales team are informed of our strengths against the rest of the market on SME. Attend Sales meetings with BDM/BDC in order to promote the SME proposition to key SME brokers. Ensure competitor SME updates are monitored and analysed with SWOT analysis utilized.
