About the Job The focus for a Security Engineer is technologies and administration of those technologies. The scope will vary from Security appliances and Network Devices. The Security Systems Engineer works closely with the TAM to provide support and assistance. Most work is scheduled and delivered in a given time frame. The Security Systems Engineer will also have excellent working relationships with other Cyderes team members. The Security Engineer is responsible for working with the Cyderes Team at multiple levels in order to identify and align business and IT objectives, discover Security or operational pain points, offer recommendations, and recognize current and future IT security needs. Responsibilities:

Execute highly technical changes, change windows, and client requests. Ensure the completion of tasks and update tickets accordingly. Utilize tools and analytical skills to investigate root cause of issues across the technologies. Document the investigation and provide solution recommendations. Fulfil Technical Service Leader (TSL) or client requested tasks. Schedule and run regular technical changes (i.e., signature updates, security patches, major software releases). Improve upon existing policies and configurations of client technologies. Provide overall guidance, instruction and leadership to SOC analysts. Provide mentorship and guidance to other SOC analysts regarding technologies. Provide expert level product ownership. Maintain detailed documentation and best practices for internal and external customers. Provide deep technical expertise to enable internal and external customers at all levels. Provide guidance for improvements within customer environments. Provide executive level reporting on a routine basis to our customers. Other duties as assigned. Maintain and expand working knowledge of current managed technologies. Improve technical understanding of all managed technologies. Communicate effectively orally and in writing, and establish a cooperative working relationship with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties. Requirements:

Formal education in computer science, cyber security, criminal justice, or similar. ANSI accredited cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, ISC2 SSCP, SANS GSEC. Experience with deception technologies such as Thinkst Canary and Attivo Networks. Experience with log management platforms such as Google Chronicle, Azure Monitor, Splunk, ELK stack (Elastic search/Logstash/Kibana). Cloud environments such as GCP, AWS, & Azure. Experience with SOAR (Security Orchestration and Automation) Platforms such as Siemplify, Demisto, Splunk SOAR. Experience with penetration testing methodologies and validation procedures. Experience supporting cloud security posture management tools such as Prisma Cloud, Lacework, Google Security command center, Wiz, Orca. Cyderes is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
