About the Team:

This is a role working across two teams. It is based within Ofcom’s friendly and expert Communications team – previously judged by PR Week as the best place to work in-house in the UK. The role also involves working closely with other teams, primarily Ofcom’s new Online Safety Supervision team.

Purpose of the Role:

We are looking for a B2B Digital Communications Associate to join the team at Ofcom on a fixed term contract basis for 12 months. This role involves working closely with Ofcom’s Online Safety Group, which ensures UK citizens live a safer life online.

Your key responsibilities:

Using your expertise in B2B communications, you will help us build awareness of the new online safety rules among services in scope of the Act.

Develop an understanding of our main B2B audiences for online safety, their needs and the barriers they face.

Act as a point of connection between Ofcom's communications and online safety colleagues, and an external agency.

Work with the agency to source relevant content opportunities and develop content aimed at online services.

Manage the logistics of our B2B campaign work - ensuring content is developed, approved and delivered as planned.

Support delivery of a range of industry-targeted activities to educate services about compliance with new regulations.

Translate complex information into simple and effective content for digital channels.

Work effectively with colleagues with expertise in communications, online safety, and behavioural insight.

Develop and foster online expertise across Ofcom’s online safety programme.

The skills, knowledge and experience you will need for success:

Experience delivering B2B digital communications campaigns.

Excellent writing skills, with the ability to edit and bring to life complex content.

Expertise in delivering paid and organic content across social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn.

Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of digital communications using analytics.

Creative skills - ability to create simple graphics or video for social, or willingness to learn.

Great organisational skills, including planning and prioritising workload.

Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

Interest and/or knowledge of online safety regulation in the UK.

Experience working for a B2B communications agency.

Experience in communications in the Technology sector.
