Social Work Manager – Practice Lead We are seeking an experienced social worker to take the role of Practice Lead and play an essential role within a charity dedicated to supporting young people leaving care. The charity provides support and expertise to local authorities around the country to set up and manage Local House Projects (LHPs) so that young people leave care in a planned and supported way. Location:

Crewe / hybrid working. Currently 2 days a week in the office, negotiable for anyone who lives at distance - you will be expected to travel to the Local House Projects you support and attend any other meetings as appropriate. Contract:

Permanent, Full Time - 9am-5pm Mon-Fri Benefits:

As Practice Lead you will have primary responsibility for supporting LHPs in Scotland and the North of England. You will support staff in LHPs to create an environment where young people transition to adulthood in a positive and supported way. You will work with the Care Leavers National Movement as well as the core team to ensure that young people continue to drive their own LHP and develop practice at both a local and national level. About You

We are looking for someone who is motivated and believes that with the right support care experienced young people can achieve great things and should be at the heart of all decisions that affect their future. You will need to have the following skills and experience: An understanding of Child development, Trauma informed care and Social pedagogical approaches An understanding of the care system Experience of working in a local authority social work team Experience of managing and supervising staff About the Organisation

The charity was established in August 2018 as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), they support local authorities in setting up Local House Projects for young people leaving care. Believing every care leaver should have this option, the charity empowers them to create and sustain homes. The initiative, co-designed with young people, began by asking, "What makes a house a home?" Local House Projects in England and Scotland help care leavers transition into permanent tenancies, fostering a supportive community. The charity has helped over 450 young people successfully move into their own homes, with no evictions or tenancy breakdowns, ensuring a secure start for their futures.
