The Adolescent Safeguarding Team delivers the statutory social work functions for children and young people identified as requiring an assessment or plan to reduce their risk of harm outside the home (particularly peer on peer sexual abuse or violence and child criminal or sexual exploitation). This includes the range of social work from: Assessments Investigations Child in need plans Child protection plans Children in care plans Court work when required The team works closely with
Police ,
Health , and
Education
colleagues to ensure a robust multi-agency response to young people. They represent their children at: Pre-MACE Youth Integrated Offenders Management Panel Missing panel These efforts support timely responses and robust safety planning. We promote a front-facing and relationship-based approach and expect workers to: See children regularly Come to the office at least 3 days per week as needed We support protected admin days on a fortnightly basis (as agreed with managers) and have a duty rota to ensure that workers can focus on their tasks and complete work in a timely manner while also supporting the team. The Adolescent Safeguarding Team is part of the
Specialist Adolescent Service , which works alongside
Youth Justice ,
Health and Wellbeing , and
Project X
teams to deliver a range of interventions with young people, supporting a holistic response to adolescent safeguarding.
