Kent County Council is Ofsted rated as 'Outstanding'. We are currently recruiting for a Social Worker to join the Adolescent Support Team in East Kent, covering the Thanet Coastline. Previous Children's and/or Adolescent experience is desired.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Work closely with 16/17-year-old young people who present as homeless and rapidly respond to ensure early and effective intervention to prevent homelessness. Chair Child In Need meetings and coordinate multi-agency risk meetings. Complete Joint Housing Assessments with District Councils. Support social workers to provide effective interventions for young people. Support young people as they become Looked After, attending Looked After Child reviews, and completing Care Plans and Pathway Plans. Work collaboratively with a range of services and partners such as Health, Education, YOT, Police, Housing, and Local Housing Providers to reduce the likelihood of harm and promote life outcomes. Promote and actively utilize holistic and whole family approaches to achieve best social work practice, using evidence-based practice to exemplify this standard. Maintain awareness of changes in legislation and related policies and practices, ensuring all social work staff are informed of these changes for consistent and timely implementation. Understand functional constraints and the importance of delivering high-quality services to young people during times of austerity.
