We have a great opportunity to recruit a qualified children’s social worker for our Children with Disabilities 0-17 Service. To help us recruit social workers who are committed to working in Middlesbrough, we are currently offering a 15% supplement to social work salaries. This additional 15% is subject to review. This is a rare opportunity as the post is 25 hours per week and can be used flexibly to fit in with your lifestyle and/or family commitments. The post can be covered in either 3 or 4 days per week, and we can negotiate start and finish times. We are a fabulous service with a lovely supportive staff team. We have short breaks staff, occupational therapists, intervention workers, and social workers who all work well together. We support children and families who feel the impact of disability and who would like some help around areas of difficulty. We also work with children in care, children subject to child protection, and work with young people preparing for adulthood. The work we have is very varied, interesting, and at times demanding. We like to work with children early so they have the best chances by putting the right packages of support in place to ensure children can develop and have opportunities that non-disabled children experience. You will be registered with Social Work England and prepared to work in various locations in Middlesbrough. Social workers in Middlesbrough benefit from manageable caseloads and strong support, regular supervisions from Managers, excellent training opportunities, and support through the progression of career grades. We also offer flexible working and an excellent varied range of staff discounts. Please note that this vacancy is part-time, 25 hours per week. For further information, please speak to Maria Bache, Team Manager, on 01642 579174. Please note Middlesbrough Council unfortunately does not offer sponsorships currently. The above post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
