Job Description

West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership are in a position to offer an exciting new opportunity for both a newly qualified or experienced social worker to join our Community Mental Health Social Work Team. The service provides social work support to the Community Mental Health Teams in Riverview and Goldenhill Resource Centres, whilst feeding into the wider adult social work service across West Dunbartonshire Council. Staff will be supported to develop their skills and expertise in adult mental health, with the requisite training opportunities being made available within a structured supervision and skills development framework. The social work team is committed to working in a multi disciplinary way with our health colleagues within the CMHT. Newly qualified social workers (NQSW) will benefit from support both internally as part of a local induction process, and within the context of the SSSC first supported year. In this context, NQSW will be given a range of observational, mentoring and experiential opportunities supporting their critical first year in employment. In addition we can offer an initial start pending qualification, moving to a social work post on gaining confirmation of your gaining the social work degree. If you are more experienced, West Dunbartonshire Council offer opportunities within which to progress your career, including leadership and management courses, while actively developing other routes to career progression enabling more experienced practitioners to use their skills and knowledge more creatively across the service. You would be expected to have a working knowledge of the four legislative frameworks; Mental Health (Scotland) Act (2003), Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act (2001), Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act (2007) and Self Directed Support (Scotland) Act (2013).
