Gateshead, UK £20 - £27 per hour About Us: Randstad is excited to collaborate with the Referral and Assessment Team in Gateshead to recruit a dedicated and experienced Social Worker. This role offers a vital opportunity to be on the front lines of protecting vulnerable children and families, conducting assessments and determining the best courses of action for their well-being. Job Description: As a Social Worker in the Referral and Assessment Team, you will play a crucial role in assessing the needs of children referred to the service. You will work in a fast-paced environment, conducting risk assessments, gathering information from multiple agencies, and making informed decisions to ensure the safety of children. Responsibilities: Conduct thorough initial assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Develop and implement appropriate support and protection plans based on assessment outcomes. Liaise with families, professionals, and external agencies to gather information and ensure coordinated support. Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, such as child protection conferences and strategy meetings. Provide clear and concise reports, ensuring accurate records are maintained in line with legal requirements and best practices. Qualifications: Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England. Experience in a referral and assessment team or a similar statutory social work role. Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a challenging caseload.
