We’re Kirklees – Come and Join our team An exciting opportunity has become available to join the North Kirklees Enhanced Team, which is a working-aged adults community mental health team. This is a full-time (37 hours), permanent vacancy. We are looking for individuals who are flexible and creative in response to organisational and service user needs, and who are committed to developing high-quality, strengths-based and recovery-focused packages of care and support. The Enhanced Pathway provides evidence-based and therapeutic interventions for people with complex mental health needs. Our teams work with service users and their families and carers to enable them to live well in their communities. We are inviting applications from both existing Approved Mental Health Practitioners (AMHPs) and Social Workers who are willing to undertake the AMHP qualification. We also welcome applications from newly qualified social workers / ASYE’s, who will be supported to complete the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment progression. Social Work is not always an easy profession, and we understand the importance of taking care of ourselves. We take your wellbeing seriously and have Wellbeing Champions based across Adult Social care who understand when you may need some additional support. As a Kirklees Council Social Worker, you will be fully supported by a dedicated team to undertake these complex and demanding roles. We have a supportive management and senior leadership team who have an open-door approach to support our team members. We encourage sharing expertise through peer support forums which comprises both social care and health practitioners. The role will involve a blended approach to office and home working to meet the needs of the service and yourself. What you will do: As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for a caseload, which will involve you undertaking holistic strength-based assessments and commissioning personalised support plans. You will provide an important and valued professional function working within a multi-disciplinary team with some of the most vulnerable people in society. You will be expected to provide at least restrictive and a preventative approach to service users to avoid hospital admission to ensure people remain in their homes. As an Approved Mental Health Professional, you will undertake Mental Health Act assessments with service users within the community. Your professional expertise and approach will ensure individual needs and aspirations are always supported, risk is managed proportionately, and safeguarding is of paramount importance. You will be part of a dynamic, responsive and innovative team with varied tasks and no two days are the same. What you will need: You will require working knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Human Rights Act, Mental Capacity Act and associated Codes of Practice to fulfil your duties in this role. You will need to have experience of working with the service user group and be able to use social work methods to promote positive change, independence, and wellbeing in accordance with assessed need, whilst promoting choice and control for adults and carers. Working knowledge of relevant legislation and ability to apply legislation to practice is required and good IT skills to support accurate and timely case recordings. You must hold a

Social Work England recognised qualification and have evidence that you are registered with Social Work England and be subject to a DBS check.
