As a qualified Social Worker, you will work with a number of people with a learning disability to implement short- and long-term interventions, utilising a person-centred and strengths-based approach to ensure that the person’s independence and well-being are promoted in the community. Social Workers will work according to the relevant legislation and statutory guidance for people with a learning disability in need of care and support. Routinely, you would be undertaking social care needs assessments, support planning and review, mental capacity assessments, Continuing Health Care decision support tools, and safeguarding enquiries when necessary.
