Software Application Engineer
Salary: 45k-60k DOE
Location: Norwich - hybrid working available
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and test PLCs, HMI, and SCADA systems. Produce associated documentation such as Functional Design Specifications and Test Plans. Interpret and analyze the functional, control, and system requirements of the project. Develop design documents such as I/O lists, Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Software Design Specifications (SDS), test plans, and other relevant documentation. Program PLCs and HMIs, including Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi systems. Configure SCADA systems such as Wonderware, Rockwell, and Siemens (Training will be provided as needed). Ensure assigned projects are delivered on time and within budget, adhering to standards and contractual obligations. Demonstrate expert knowledge of computer and PLC logic, including flow-charting processes. Understand and work with low-voltage electrical systems and technical drawings. Visit customer sites as needed, maintaining the Company's culture and values. Review and update legacy code when necessary. Perform system analysis and development to ensure systems align with evolving technologies and methodologies. Test and validate programs to ensure functionality, logic, and syntax align with the FDS and test plan. Maintain consistent documentation across all software to ensure clarity and compliance with standards. Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, effectively interacting with clients and colleagues. Conduct scalability and portability analysis as required. Contribute to the development and improvement of the Company's processes and knowledge-based systems.
