Arcus are recruiting a Software Developer who will be responsible for the design and build of data driven applications. Reporting to the IT Manager, you will be part of an integrated technical team, with significant opportunities for development. The Software Developer will take a leading role on designing and developing projects from start to finish, guiding development and testing whilst always ensuring that established standards are rigorously maintained. Other responsibilities include: Collaborate with other developers to plan, develop, design, test and maintain secure, enterprise grade web and desktop applications built on Microsoft technologies. Design, develop and unit test applications in accordance with established standards. Ensure that documentation is updated and design and construct help and other associated documentation. Provide in depth technical support to colleagues and business users. The successful candidate will have proven relevant experience in secure application development in a .NET environment, and of data driven development and design using relational databases (MS SQL or MySQL) and ORM packages such as Entity Framework. Other requirements include: Knowledge and experience of functional and/or object-oriented languages and theories. Experience of developing software functions. Proven experience of debugging, and unit testing web, desktop or mobile applications. Experience of identifying bugs and offering support to business users and technical colleagues. Experience of interacting with colleagues across all levels and layers of a business. Experience of technical design and documentation. Knowledge and experience of technical standards, libraries and relevant processes.
